On April 1st, NYACP members and a few non-members gathered for an insightful educational session by world-class surgeon Dr. Hiroyuki Yoshihara. Dr. Yoshihara explored the core causes, clinical presentations, and a full spectrum of treatment options for back pain, including when surgical intervention becomes necessary. The session offered practical, evidence-based guidance to support better patient outcomes and deeper clinical confidence.

Her Story: Raising Maternal Health Awareness and Empowering Women of Color

On April 16th, the NYACP’s DEI Task Force and Suffolk District, hosted a powerful educational program focused on advancing health equity for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Led by Suffolk District Councilor, Camile Gooden, MD, FACP, CHCQM-PHYADV, ACPA-C, Keynote Speaker, Dr. Camille A. Clare, MD, MPH, CPE, FACOG and several other maternal health specialists. The event brought together a dynamic group of multidisciplinary specialists to share critical insights, tools, and strategies to help individuals make informed decisions about their health. From candid conversations to practical resources, the program underscored the importance of culturally responsive care and community-centered advocacy.
