NYACP Paint and Connect Recap:
Margaret Vaughan, MD, FACP
The New York Chapter of the American College of Physicians (NYACP) has been at the forefront of promoting physician well-being and professional satisfaction through a variety of successful programs and resources. The NYACP Well-Being Committee strives to create innovative initiatives that address burnout and nurture creativity, connection, and collegiality. Programs like Small Feedings of the Soul, Wisdom and Well Being, and Narrative Medicine/Book Club events illustrate a few of the committee’s endeavors.
I recently facilitated and participated in a successful virtual “Paint and Connect“ event held on October 25, 2025. Taught by a professional artist, the online facilitated painting class allowed NYACP members to explore their creativity while socializing, providing a refreshing respite from their demanding professional roles. The ACP Well-Being Committee endeavors to identify needs and tailor programs to provide physicians with essential support and social connection. The committee welcomes new members and ideas; please contact pgesner@nyacp.org if you are interested in joining or have suggestions for future events!
