MOC Statement- October 12, 2019 only
 
Successful completion of the CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 6.5 MOC points in Medical Knowledge in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credit claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.

To claim MOC points for this activity, the ABIM requires that learners be enrolled in their MOC program. The ABIM also requires learners complete a comprehensive evaluation (e.g. quiz) of the learning that took place. Quiz questions are based on the meeting material, a minimum score of 60% is required to claim MOC points, and multiple attempts are permitted. If you have an questions about claiming MOC points, please contact ACP. If you have any questions about the MOC program, please contact the ABIM.


Friday, October 11: Pre - Course Information
How to Register for ABIM Maintenance of Certification Modules (MOC) 

Obtain credit toward your American Board of Internal Medicine Maintenance of Certification (MOC) on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Annual Chapter Meeting. New York ACP faculty will present ABIM Self Evaluation Process Modules on :

  • 2019 Update in Hospital Medicine (10:00 am -12:00 noon)
  • 2019 Update in Internal Medicine (1:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

Each ABIM MOC module contains approximately 30 multiple-choice questions to be completed through group discussion and with the help of an automated audience response system. Upon completion of the session, attendees will be able to submit their answers to ABIM for scoring and points toward the self-evaluation of knowledge requirement associated with the MOC Program. You can earn 10 MOC points for each MOC session you attend for a total of 20 MOC points for taking all both sessions, attendee's can also claim CME credits per module.

Advance registration will be required. The fee for each Learning Session is $60.

To participate in this session:

  • Register in advance by completing the NYACP Annual Chapter Scientific Meeting registration form in the brochure or online; select the ABIM SEP Modules; and submit registration fees to NYACP.
  • If you are enrolled in the ABIM MOC process you may order your SEP modules from ABIM at www.abim.org/online or call (800) 441-2246 prior to the session to expedite receiving credit for the SEP modules from ABIM.
  • You may bring your modules with you to the Learning Session; note that we will provide all course registrants with a printed version of the SEP modules, on site.
    After the Learning Session  - Save your answers! You will need them to complete the module and earn credit.
  • Submit your answers to ABIM for MOC credit after the Learning Session via the ABIM Web site (for immediate results).

 The Chapters popular poster competition is scheduled for Residents and Medical Students in the morning! This abstract competition is now open and abstracts are now being accepted online.  The winners of the poster competition will be announced during lunch and posted on the Chapter's Website.

The Chapter is also excited to include in this year's agenda special track just for Residents. We hope you will take advantage of these specifically designed courses for your peer group!
