Erin Russell 

Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, '26

Erin is currently an M3 at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, living in Brooklyn, NY. Having lived in New York for the past 20 years, she is constantly energized by the people in her community, especially their welcoming spirit. Prior to medical school, Erin pursued a career in business but ultimately transitioned to medicine to make a meaningful impact on the health of individuals within her community.

At her medical school, she has been elected by her peers in the Class of 2025 as their Wellness Representative, advocating for student wellness initiatives and organizing events to support her classmates. She has also served on the executive board of the WISH Clinic, the school’s student-run free clinic. Through her involvement with NYACP's Medical Student Committee, Erin co-released a physician spotlight podcast with Dr. Kelly Ramsey on a career in addiction medicine and helped organize the first event of the NYACP Medical Student Mentorship Series: "The Application Cycle". 

Erin is enthusiastic about serving as the NYACP Medical Student Council Board Representative this year. She looks forward to continuing and expanding the mentorship series while fostering education, advocacy, and collaboration among medical students across New York.

NYACP Abstract Competitions

NYACP sponsors a local abstract competition in the fall that offer medical students an opportunity to compete with peers from across New York State.  Collaborate with your program director, discuss research or clinical experiences and formally write an abstract for professional review. (How to Prepare GREAT Abstract and Poster Presentations) Add your submission to your CV as a scholarly activity!

Winners from each division receive an expense paid trip to the present their poster at the ACP National IM Meeting!
