NYACP is kicking off National Patient Safety Awareness Week, March 3-9, 2013 with an “Anatomy of Medical Errors” Webinar, presented by Ethan Fried, MD, MACP on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 10am-11am.
As a training tool in patient safety, the presentation will cover the complex anatomy of medical errors, classifications of errors and common tools used to mitigate each of them.We will discuss how errors are usually identified and highlight the advantages of near miss reporting systems.
The ACP/NYACP Near Miss Registry will be highlighted as a patient safety data collection, reporting and quality improvement tool that was developed by the Chapter and its members.
Physicians who submit a confidential report to the risk free Registry will obtain a certificate that verifies their participation in a patient safety activity.
