March 2-8, 2014 is Patient Safety Awareness Week. This is an annual campaign sponsored by the National Patient Safety Foundation dedicated to educating healthcare professionals and patients about health care safety.
This year’s theme is “Navigate Your Health…Safely.” A patient’s health journey often starts with a diagnosis. One way to encourage patient understanding is to distribute a checklist that helps patients take an active role in working with their doctor or nurse when they are ill. http://bit.ly/yebkrT.
