As the holiday season comes to a close, we’re reminded of the profound sense of family and community it inspires—values that resonate deeply within ACP. For 109 years, the American College of Physicians (ACP) has fostered a unique sense of community among medical students, residents, fellows, and physicians, united by a shared passion for internal medicine.
With 161,000 members worldwide, including over 11,000 in New York State, ACP continues to amplify the voice of internal medicine. Membership provides a sense of belonging and connection, empowering us to help advance internal medicine. Our community thrives on shared interests, mutual support, and a collective purpose, creating a network where everyone feels valued.
Being part of ACP not only benefits our physician community, it also enriches patient care. Together, we address broader community health needs, ultimately leading to better health outcomes for patients.
ACP members champion patients and colleagues through federal and state advocacy, community outreach, and active participation on committees and task forces at the national and chapter levels. It is a vibrant, supportive space that fosters peer support, collaborative learning, social connections, professional development, and advocacy for physician health and wellness. ACP members can rely on one another, share ideas, and shape the future of internal medicine.
Let’s continue to celebrate and strengthen this remarkable community that helps us grow, thrive, and make a lasting impact!
