NYACP Wins Evergreen Award at IM25

On April 2, 2025, NYACP was awarded with an ACP Evergreen Award for the Chapter’s Advocacy Engagement in 2024!  The John Tooker Evergreen Award recognizes the valuable contributions of ACP members working through their state Chapters ‘to enrich, educate, and engage members’.

In 2024, a variety of new advocacy programs and activities were implemented, all while keeping the Chapter’s mission and goals the most important priority … NYACP’s mission is dedicated to advancing the specialty of Internal Medicine and improving patient care in New York State through education, ADVOCACY, and quality improvement.  In addition, the Chapter’s goal is to advocate responsible positions on individual health and on public policy relating to health care for the benefit of the public, patients, the medical profession, and our members. With so many legislative obstacles facing internal medicine and primary care physicians, the Chapter reviewed legislative activities and member responses over the last two years. The total number of NYACP members versus responses to member Call-to-Action requests clearly reflected the need to focus on increasing advocacy activity through member engagement.
