On May 21st at the Pearl Street Grill in Buffalo, the Chapter had the privilege of hosting Dr. Leonard Egede, Chair of Medicine, University of Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine, who delivered an impactful talk on Understanding Health Disparities, Social Determinants of Health, and Structural Racism: A New Era for Health Care Professionals. His insights sparked an engaging and thoughtful conversation centered around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in healthcare and community systems.
The event was well attended by several district leaders from the Buffalo area, reflecting a strong local commitment to addressing disparities and advancing equitable practices. The dialogue highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration and continued education on DEI principles.
We thank all who participated and look forward to future discussions that move us toward meaningful change.
