Cori Salvit, MD, FACP,  is an Attending at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell, and the Program Director of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Transitional Year Residency Program. She received her MD degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in 2006. After completing residency, she joined Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine as a teaching hospitalist attending. In 2008, Dr. Salvit joined Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) as a full-time hospitalist and continues to care for patients on the General Medicine and Gastrointestinal Oncology inpatient services. In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Salvit has a passion for medical education, mentorship and faculty development. 

Dr. Salvit is the Director of the MSK Transitional Year (TY) Residency Program, a one- year internship that provides graduate medical education in multiple clinical disciplines. The MSK TY program is one of the largest and most competitive academic internship programs in the nation and receives more than 1,000 applications annually for 24 positions. As the TY program director, Dr. Salvit oversees all aspects of the program including the clinical and didactic curriculum, intern evaluation and remediation, faculty development, program evaluation and recruitment. She has mentored numerous  junior faculty, residents and chief residents and was the recipient of the MSK Department of Medicine Clinical Mentorship Award in 2024.  

In addition to work at MSK, Dr. Salvit is an active member of the American College of Physicians. She was the ACP Manhattan District Councilor, a national ACP Wellbeing Champion, and the Vice Chair and Chair of the New York ACP Wellbeing Committee. She is currently the NYACP Manhattan District President. Dr. Salvit helped establish two successful NYACP virtual programs, “Wisdom and Wellbeing” and “Small Feedings of the Soul: Readings and Reflections''. These programs are ongoing and strive to promote faculty development, physician well-being and foster community for physicians at various stages of their career. Dr. Salvit has also served on committees for the Alliance of Academic Internal Medicine including the CDIM Subinternship Committee, Medical Student to Resident Interface Committee, and Women In Medicine Leadership Forum Planning Committee.
